Try your hand at inking on wood. The rich brown sepia tones in this design lend to its desire. It works well on many surfaces. Its a real pleasure to do. This is a pen and ink on wood! The pattern was painted on a wooden card box or can be done on an unsealed wooden surface of your choice.
To prevent painted placemats, coasters or box lid from sticking together, I recommend using a soft rag to apply a coat of wax (after varnishing) on both sides. Then buff out to a soft finish. NOTE: Use a hard non-yellowing paste wax (NOT floor wax) This wax is often used with chalk paint.
